What Kilt version do I need?

A traditional kilt consists of 8 Yard fabric; that are 7.30 meters of fabric, which are processed. Depending on the hip more or less material is needed to obtain the required number of folds. If you are unsure, we recommend to choose a traditional 8 yard Kilt. Casual Kilts from 4 yards or 5 yards material are not traditionally worn; they are more for leisure, here the amount of substance plays a smaller role.

Our recommendation:

  • 4 Yard / 3,6m - Casual
  • 5 Yard / 4,6m - Casual
  • 6 Yard / 5,5m - to hip size 32" (81cm)
  • 7 Yard / 6,4m - to hip size 37" (94cm)
  • 8 Yard / 7,3m - to hip size 46" (117cm)
  • 9 Yard / 8,2m - to hip size 52" (132cm)
  • 10 Yard / 9,1m - Hips size over 52" (132cm)
